Benefits Of Yoga
The best way to really make fitness part of our lifestyle is to not only keep it challenging but also fun and exciting which is why I am kicking off a month of trying out new fitness classes with a little yoga fun. This is the perfect way to step out of my fitness comfort zone which is boxing and keep my mind and body looking forward to something different.
After a long week, I wanted to start off my Monday just right so 7 a.m. yoga class at Bend and Bloom it was. With the goal of showing you the difference a morning practice of yoga can make in your day, this Sunrise Flow mixed-level class helps you rediscover your body, the way yoga does, and ultimately helps you focus on that hour of you time. Great for all levels, I would highly recommend this class to people looking to get their body moving and flowing but not necessarily having an intense workout.
Many people think of yoga and imagine the kind of class I just enjoyed but the truth is that there are many different types of yoga classes. Some more relaxing and focused on flexibility, others just as intense as any other form of cardio. Need a further reason to check out a yoga class? Below I am leaving with you with six benefits of yoga.
INCREASED FLEXIBILITY
Improved flexibility is one of the most obvious benefits of yoga. Just one class wont be enough for you to do a backbend but stick with it and you’ll gradually notice how your body loosens, and poses you once thought impossible for you will be do-able. You will also notice pains and aches begin to disappear as you become more flexible and your muscles begin to better align.
INCREASED MUSCLE STRENGTH
Putting on muscles not only gives you a better physique, it also helps against conditions like arthritis and back pain.
REDUCES STRESS
Studies show that a consistent yoga practice reduces stress, even improving depression, leading you to becoming happier.
BETTER SLEEP
Yoga may help enhance sleep quality because of its effects on melatonin and its impact on several common contributors to sleep problems.
HELPS WITH WEIGHT LOSS
Since yoga encourages you to focus on your breathing and the sensations in your body, your brain begins to pay more attention to feeling of satiety. You begin to see food as fuel which means less emotional eating. This is based on research from the University of Washington which shows that people who regularly practice yoga eat more mindfully compared to other exercisers.
IT MAKES SEX BETTER!
Yoga not only improves your flexibility and makes you stronger but it also increases your core stability and strengthens women’s pelvic floor muscles—which leads to a tighter grip down south and stronger orgasms.
